Alonso Doubt Ability to Compete Duo Ricciardo Mercedes
Stavelot – Daniel Ricciardo Red Bull won two in a row at the Belgian GP. However, it does not necessarily make Ricciardo as a serious competitor Mercedes duo, according to Fernando Alonso.
At last weekend’s race, Ricciardo managed to take advantage of an incident involving Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton for the top podium. Australian rider recorded a 1 hour 24 minutes 36.556 seconds or three seconds adrift of Rosberg in second position, while Hamilton failed to finish due to damage on his car.
2014 Mercedes duo dominated the competition by winning nine of the 12 races that have been bypassed. Rosberg won four times, while Hamilton won five times.
Outside Mercedes, Ricciardo only that could disrupt the dominance of Rosberg and Hamilton. Victory at Spa being the third after the Hungarian GP and GP Canada.
Sitting in third place Ricciardo has 156 points, 35 points ahead of Hamilton on it and closed to within 64 points with seven balan rest. Although the opportunity is still open but Alonso assess unrealistic for Ricciardo.
“Obviously he is doing an amazing job and he surprised everyone but profit Mercedes … in qualifying them two seconds,” said the Ferrari driver is quoted by Autosport.
“When they finished the race they continue to increase their profits,” said Alonso.
“But if the other riders can do it, when it’s just Ricciardo,” I was world champion twice.
